What is Body Doubling?

Body Doubling is when you work alongside another person, each doing your own tasks, but use each other’s presence as a motivator to stay on track.

For folks who are neurodivergent and whose minds tend to wander and get off task, body doubling can help them improve focus and motivation when they need to tackle boring or monotonous tasks.

Some examples of tedious tasks that body doubling can help with are chores, exercise, paperwork, etc.

What Happens in a Body Doubling Session?

All Body Doubling Sessions will take place over Zoom.

The call will start with each person announcing their goal or intention for the session. This can be done “live” on video or just typed into the chat.

Then everyone will turn off their videos and start working on their tasks.

At the halfway mark, I will unmute myself to verbally remind folks to get back on task if they have gotten distracted.

We will all meet back up just before the call ends to share the progress made on the task.
